Illumination Planning Committee Member
Help make an impact on our community by helping to plan and run the Illumination Event.
Description
Attend planning committee meetings, provide input and feedback, and help complete tasks associated with planning and organizing the event. There is a wide range of tasks that could be needed and you decide what tasks to accept and complete. As with anything, the more you are willing to give, the more you will receive.
Time Commitment
There is no required time commitment to join the planning committee. We meet on a Friday at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. Meetings are once per month (typically the first or second Friday) during the months of October - May. We meet twice per month in June and July. Beginning in August through the Illumination event we meet weekly. Assignments are made during these meetings. There is no expectation on how many meetings you attend, just that you give where you are able and you follow through on the assignments you accept to complete. We know everyone is busy, and ask only what you are able to give.
Do I need to be a mental health professional or have formal training?
No, many of us who help to plan Illumination are not trained as a mental health professional. We work with many mental health professionals to ensure what we plan and incorporate are appropriate and will make the biggest impact on our community. There are many tasks that need to be completed and do not require any mental health training. Many great ideas have also come from those without any formal mental health professional training.
