Illumination Youth Committee Advisor
Hi. My name is Shannon Smith. I am Utah-born and raised. I love it here!! My husband Brian and I live in Davis County. We have four incredible children and one terrific grandson. Our baby is seventeen years old and a senior in the Davis School District. I studied Interior Design at WSU and I am currently working on a bachelor's Degree through BYUI for Professional Studies and Family History Research. Brian works for Motorola Solutions in West Valley as a Senior Programming Manager and I am pursuing my passion for writing in hopes of becoming a published author. We own two businesses, an urban family farm and an event rental business. We enjoy spending time as a family, cooking, gardening, and getting out in nature to walk, hike, and kayak. I enjoy reading and writing and I LOVE people. I love connecting with them, helping them, and just being around them.
Mental health and suicide have impacted my life in many ways and have created a special place in my heart for helping those who struggle. I am grateful to be a part of the Illumination Committee. I love to serve in my community and to help make this world a better place to live. I am actively involved in my local High school PTA as the Secretary, I am a Davis County Delegate, a Precinct Caucus Secretary, and I serve as an advisor on the Illumination youth committee.
I am passionate about helping the youth, especially those who struggle with life and mental health challenges. Illumination helps people to “find their spark” and that is a cause I am proud to be a part of!!
